One of the recent competitions I've taken a part in. This is my proposal for a Maslenitsa Scarecrow 2022 which usually gets burnt at the end of a folk festival in Nikola-Lenivets.
CONCEPT
Maslenitsa in Nikola-Lenivets has always been a one-day performance that ends with a spectacular bonfire, when the art-object or in this case a Maslenitsa Scarecrow gets burnt. This special piece of art is created to last for months in order to disappear in just a few hours. This is how the Nikola-Lenivets team believes the real art should look like — the one which is not stored under the museum's glass, but which appears for a short time to exist in the memory of everyone who has seen it.
